Edmonton Cricket Club

ecc_badge.jpgFounded in 1876 with the 1st XI playing in the Midlesex Championship Div 1 and the 2nd XI in the Middlesex County League.

image20.jpgWe were one of the first clubs to attain 'Club Mark Status' and as such uphold the values conferred upon us. The Club runs five league sides on a Saturday and three teams on Sunday.  Senior nets are held in a nearby school on Tuesday evenings in the winter and on Wednesday evenings from 18.30 at the club during the summer.

Our full time ground staff prepare excellent wickets on our three squares which will not break a bowler's heart, but excites adept batsmen, we occasionally flatter to deceive and get out cheaply or find no rabbits to add to our tally, but don't get disheartened because there is always next week and a beer in the bar with your team mates.

The club has a long tradition of sociability and it is expected that you spend some time entertaining your guests after close of play.

Our aims are for our 1st XI to progress and gain entry to the County League, while maintaining the strength of our other sides.

Edmonton Cricket Club Colts (Juniors)

We have a thriving Colts section providing league cricket and coaching by qualified members.  It is open to all age groups from 7 to 17 yrs. League games are held in the evenings and Sunday mornings with coaching sessions also taken in the evening and at a local school during the winter.

It is a policy of the club that the older boys are encouraged to join the senior section to play for them in league matches at the weekend.  The club promotes participation by all and the ethos of taking part, not just winning is supported by the team managers.

As a 'Clubmark' Club you can be assured that all coaches, and members actively involved in the running of the section have had the appropriate CRB checks and there is a nominated committee member who is in control of child welfare.

Our aims are to give as many young people as possible the benefit of taking part in this great sport and encouraging our existing members to continue along the path to senior cricket.
